How to Get a Global Nomad Visa for Canada

Canada does not yet have a specific “Global Nomad Visa,” but you can live and work remotely through different routes:

  1. Temporary Work Permit: Many nomads enter on a temporary work permit, especially those from visa-exempt countries.
  2. International Experience Canada (IEC): For those aged 18-35, the IEC allows you to work in Canada for up to two years.
  3. Start-Up Visa Program: This program is for entrepreneurs looking to build their businesses in Canada. Remote business owners may qualify if their company is scalable in Canada.
  4. Digital Nomad Communities: Engage with online communities focused on remote work in Canada. You may find opportunities to join co-living or working spaces that support digital nomads.
  5. Visit on a Tourist Visa: If you don’t need a work visa, you can stay in Canada for up to six months as a tourist, provided you continue to work remotely.
